From 1975-1979 Lady Howe served as the full time Deputy Chairman of the Equal Opportunities Commission and chaired its Legal Committee. Following that she served as Chairman of the NACRO Working Party on Fine Enforcement and of their Drugs Advisory Group. She was also on the British Film Institute's Funding Committee for the establishment of the Museum of the Moving Image.

Publications include: CPC pamphlet "Under Five" (1966); pamphlet "Women and Credit" (1978); articles for The Times, The Financial Times, The Guardian, New Society and others.

Lady Howe is a frequent public speaker and has taken part in many television and radio broadcats, including 'Any Questions'.

Lady Howe is married to Sir Geoffrey and they have three children.
