Manual and Signet, appoint you, the said Christopher
Francis Patten, to be Our Governor and Commander-in-Chief
in and over Our Colony of Hong Kong and its Dependencies,
during Our pleasure, with all the powers, rights,
privileges and advantages to the said Office belonging or
appertaining. And We do direct that your appointment shall
take effect upon the day of your arrival in Hong Kong.
