I also attach suggested guestlists fur

le

various lunches and dinners proposed to take place at Government House during Mr. Patten's first month. Grateful for confirmation that we may issue invitations in due course (usually four weeks in advance).

The Chief Secretary would be happy to discuss this programme with Mr. Patten when he sees him in June. However, any thoughts or queries that Mr. Patten might have at this stage would be welcome. We would like to issue invitations to the various lunches and dinners a month ahead if possible and to arrange some of the early mootingo in caco those concerned are unavailable for any

reason.

Finally, the Chief Secretary and Lady Ford would be happy to offer Mr. and Mis Pallen a quiet dinner at Victoria House on either 9 or 10 July if they would like that. They will not be upset if they prefer to be on their own at Government House!

Fri.

You ever.
