Mr Patten and his family gave an extensive background briefing to David Wallen (SCMP) and Rosemary Langford
(ODN) on Monday 11 May for a personal profile. The SCMP and ODN published articles on Wednesday 13 May.
Mr Patten will not be doing any more interviews
relating to Hong Kong for the time being. He will consider, nearer the time of his departure, how best to handle media coverage of policy questions.
