1. Many thanks for your letter about the Chinese name of the Governor-designate. I have looked at the alternatives with Alan Paul. For added authenticity, he has also consulted Rosanna. All of us feel that version (A) is best. It is already becoming quite well known here and, as you say, we would need to have a strong reason to change it. In fact, none of the other versions suggested seem to us to have any noticeable advantages over it, and clearly some of them have disadvantages. Peng Dingkang let it be!
