ARTICLE 13

Representation and Costs

(1)

The

requested Party shall make the necessary

arrangements for legal representation and assistance in any

proceedings arising out of requests for the surrender of a

fugitive offender.

In the case of requests made by Hong

Kong, the Attorney-General of Canada shall conduct the

proceedings. In the case of requests made by Canada, the

proceedings shall be conducted by the competent legal

authorities in accordance with the law and practice of Hong

Kong.

Expenses incurred in the jurisdiction of the

the request or by reason of

that Party. If it becomes

likely to be incurred, the Parties shall consult to

determine how these expenses shall be met.
