Various Orders in Council 1872 to 1987 applying the
Extradition Act 1870 in respect of various countries with
which the United Kingdom has bilateral agreements or which
are parties to multilateral agreements to which the UK is
a party.
The Extradition (Genocide) Orders 1970 to 1986
In respect of Commonwealth countries
The Fugitive offenders (Hong Kong) Orders 1967 and 1975;
The Fugitive offenders (Overseas Territories) Orders 1968
and 1977;
The Fugitive offenders (Genocide) Order 1977.
These enactments will all lapse in respect of Hong Kong on
1 July 1997.
Proposal

In order that there will be legislation in place in Hong
Kong which will continue to have effect in the Hong Kong Special
Administrative Region after 30 June 1997 the British side propose to introduce legislation to localise the provisions of the enactments mentioned in paragraph 3 above insofar as they are part of the law
of Hong Kong.

The proposed legislation, following existing law and practice, will confer on the Governor power to order the surrender of any person found in Hong Kong in respect of whom a request is
made by the appropriate authority of a jurisdiction outside Hong
Kong if -
