Amend the Societies Ordinance.

Enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and
consent of the Legislative Council thereof.
1. Short title and commencement
(1) This Ordinance may be cited as the Societies (Amendment)
Ordinance 1992.
(2)
This Ordinance shall come into operation on [
1992).
2. Long title amended
The long title of the Societies Ordinance (Cap. 151) is amended
by repealing "registration of societies" and substituting

"notification of establishment of societies, for prohibition of
operation of certain societies"
3.
Interpretation
(1) Section 2(1) is amended -
(a) by repealing the definition of "exempted society";
(b) in the definition of "local society" by repealing

(d)
"subsection (2A) or";
by repealing the definitions of "prescribed",
"registered society" and "Registrar"; and
by adding
""notified society" means a society the
establishment of which has been notified to
