(1) If at any time it appears to the Societies
Notification officer that the activities of a notified society are not in accordance with the objects of the society as set out in the notification sent to the societies Notification Officer under section 5, the Societies Notification Officer may by notice served on the society require the society to desist from such activities or to change its objects so that they properly reflect the activities of the society.
(2) Where a society served with a notice under subsection (1) fails to comply with the notice, every office-bearer of the society and every person managing or assisting in the management of the society commits an offence and shall be liable on summary conviction to a fine of $10,000 and to
imprisonment for 6 months unless he establishes to the satisfaction of the court that such failure has occurred for
reasons beyond his control.
11.
List of notified societies
(1) The Societies Notification Officer shall keep a list
of all notified societies setting out
(a)
the names of societies; and
(b) the respective addresses of the societies.
(2) The list kept by the Societies Notification Officer under subsection (1) shall be open to inspection by any person free of charge during office hours at the Societies
Notification Office.
