Report on PELB Visit to Pearl River Delta
Introduction
CRC 4/92
A delegation of the Planning, Environment and Lands
Branch, led by DS (LP), paid a study visit to Guangzhou and the
Pearl River Delta Area on 15-18 November 1991. The programme
included briefing sessions by the Provincial Planning
Commission of Guangdong and City Planning Commissions of
Foshan and Zhuhai, as well as visits to a number of ports in
the area and the new Shenzhen Airport. A visit report is
attached to this paper.
Observations

The following observations made during the visit may
be worth noting

The considerable investments made in the area during
the Seventh Five Year Plan are producing results.
All the cities and Special Economic Zones have been
growth both in terms of

the Eighth Five Year Plan (1991-1995).
