The future development potential of Jiuzhou port hinges very much on the
development of the Zhuhai Special Economic Zone. However, because
of favourable geographical location & preferential policies, Jiuzhou has
better development potential than other ports along the Pearl River.

Jiuzhou is located very near to H.K.'s loading & unloading terminals, so
it is likely to remain a feeder port of H.K., taking advantage of the
international shipping services available in Hong Kong. As the cities
along the Pearl River become more industrialized, substantial growth in
river trade between the western port of the Delta region and Hong Kong
can be expected.
