In respect of the provision of various ancillary services and facilities to
the airport users, the Shenzhen Airport Corporation has entered into joint venture
agreements with other organisations to provide airport hotel, airport catering and fuel
supply facilities. As a result, the total number of staff working directly for the
Shenzhen Airport Corporation was only around 600.

The airport passenger terminal building is a three storey structure with a
total floor area of 42 000 sq. m. The first floor is for arrivals, linked up by
international and domestic streams of passengerways and equipped with auto luggage
rotary disk. The second floor is for departures (see photos at Appendix 7). The
terminal is designed to meet an annual handling capacity of 8 million passengers.
When the practical capacity reaches 5 million passengers, the airport authority would
plan and construct a second terminal dedicated to international flights. The current
terminal will then serve only as a domestic terminal.
20.
The airport cargo terminal is scheduled for completion by the end of 1992.
The cargo freight zone will occupy an area of 20 ha. Construction will be divided into
three phases. Each phase can operate independently. The area to be constructed in the
first phase will cover 1 ha. designed with a capacity to handle 80 000 tons of cargoes
per annum. When the whole cargo terminal is completed, the annual handling
capacity will reach 600 000 tons.
