Convention
Convention and Statute on Freedom of Transit,
Barcelona, 1921
The Convention and its annexed Statute
were concluded in Barcelona on 20 April
1921.
The UK ratified the Convention on 2
August 1992 and Hong Kong was included in the
UK's ratification. The PRC is not a party to
it.

developing co-operation between States. It
proclaims the right of free transit without prejudice to the sovereign rights of States authority over routes available for The Convention is open to accession
by Members of the League of Nations which have not signed it and States not Members of
the League to which the Council of the League
may decide officially to communicate the
Convention (Article 5).
