Following
the agreement
reached
between the two
sides, the international rights and obligations affecting
Hong Kong and arising from the 49 ILCs will continue to apply to the Hong Kong SAR after 30 June 1997 in accordance
with the Joint Declaration. It therefore remains only for
actual mechanism for the
international rights
and
the two sides to discuss the
continued application of the
obligations to the Hong Kong SAR on the basis of the
proposals made in the British side's working paper handed
over to the Chinese side on 15 March 1989.
