UN Convention Against Torture
(Translation )
On 28 October the British side handed over to the
Chinese side speaking note, together with a copy of The UN
against Torture and Other Inhuman or Degrading

The Chinese side therefore has по

in principle to the British side's proposal that
the Convention be applied to Hong Kong upon the UK'S
ratification and continue to be applied to the Hong Kong SAR
after 1997.
The concrete means of the Convention's
continued application
to Hong Kong after 1997 could be
discussed at the IRO Standing Subgroup in due course.
