Convention on Consent to Marriage, Minimum Age

for Marriage and Registration of Marriages ("the

Convention") was adopted by the General Assembly of the

United Nations on 7 November 1962 and entered into force on

9 December 1964 (text at Annex A). The United Kingdom (UK)

acceded to the Convention on 9 July 1970 and included Hong

a number of reservations upon accession. The text of those

Articles 4 and 5 the Convention is open for accession to

all States Members of the United Nations or member of the
