You requested comments by 14 October on certain aspects of the human rights treaties. These were mostly covered in our telno 1453. Unfortunately because of illness Legal Advisers have not yet been able to look at your proposed action on the UK reservations to a) the Convention on the Political Rights of Women and b) the Convention on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. We will get any comments on this to you as soon as possible, hopefully by the end of the week apologies if this causes any problems.
