Second Department,
Kong & Macao Affairs Office, State Council, led a 6-member delegation to visit Hong Kong from 12 to 21 February 1992.
The delegation list and detailed visit
programme are attached.
Wang's delegation comprised officials from 4 PFC departments: the State Council HKMAO, the Ministry of Public Health, the Ministry of Civil Affairs and the Beijing Municipal People's Government. We included in the programme briefings on the government structure, civil service pay and conditions, health and welfare policies, housing policies, the Urban Council, and the work of a district office.
A visit to the Sai Kung District and visits to a public housing estate, museums, a polyclinic and hospitals were also arranged.
Wang maintained a high profile throughout his visit in Hong Kong and was followed by reporters everywhere he went.
