RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE
WORKING GROUP ON A1 AND A2 PEST LIST
The Working Group agreed to use ASEAN-PLANTI's and SPC's A1 and A2 lists for revising the Lists A1 and A2
A2 of the Plant Protection Agreement for the Asia and Pacific Region. The Group agreed to consolidate Lists A1 and A2 of the Plant Protection Agreement with those from PLANTI and the SPC. The consolidated list shall then be circulated to the Working Group members before submitting to APPPC member countries for comments and suggestions.
The mechanics of circulation shall be:-

The Working Group Chairman takes charge of consolidating the list and circulating it to the Working Group members. He also takes charge of submitting the list to the member countries for \ their comments and suggestions.
UK (Hong Kong) takes charge of computer support.
Each Working Group member shall be responsible in collecting data, comments and suggestions for each pest grouping, as follows:-
China Indonesia
Sri Lanka and UK (Hong Kong)] PLANTI SPC
Fruit pests
Plant pathogen Nematodes and
Lise it's
Weeds
Other pest problems, e.g. Giant African snail
The group further agreed that the updated list be sent to international institutions and relevant authorities such as CABI, USDA and CSIRO for verification.
To improve and modify the consolidated format, the Group recommended that: -
(i)
the names of authorities be deleted from the list;
(ii) the name, distribution and host list be updated; .
(iii)
and
a column for alternative hosts be included.
