THE CONCLUSION OF A FRAMEWORK COOPERATION AGREEMENT BETWEEN
THE EUROPEAN COMMUNITY AND THE FEDERATIVE REPUBLIC OF BRAZIL

Subject Matter
1. The proposed Decision concerns a framework trade and economic cooperation agreement between the Community and the Republic of Brazil. The proposed agreement provides for cooperation in the following areas.
(i)
trade and industry;
(x)
standards;
(ii)
investment;
(xi)
fisheries;
(iii)
science and technology; (xii) information technology;
(iv)
agriculture;
(xiii) transport;
(v)
intellectual property;
(xiv) social development;
(vi)
mining;
(xv) energy;
(vii)
health;
(xvi) drug abuse;
(viii) tourism;
(ix) public administration;
2. Both parties undertake to grant each other most favoured nation status, in accordance with the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade, and to trade in accordance with the GATT.
