Policy Implications

The Government welcome closer targetting of cooperation
ties between the Community and Macao. The proposed agreement will establish an effective framework for the conduct of the Community's trade and cooperation relations with Macao. government therefore support this proposal.
Financial Implications

The
Activity under the Agreement will be funded from within existing budgetary provisions.
Timetable
10. The Council authorised the Commission to open negotiations with Macao by a decision of 28 April 1992. The agreement was initialled on 12 May. The Presidency propose that the agreement be signed in the margins of the June Foreign Affairs
