NEW ZEALAND PRIME MINISTER'S CALL ON THE PRIME MINISTER, 23 JUNE

1.
The New Zealand Prime Minister, Mr Bolger, is due to call on the Prime Minister on 23 June. He will be seeing Chancellor Kohl the following day.
2. As usual, Mr Bolger's top priority for this metting will be to discuss the present situation on the GATT Uruguay Round, CAP reform, and agricultural trade. He is also likely to want to discuss the coming G7 Economic Summit, and to want to hear about recent developments concerning:

The EC (Maastricht, prospects for enlargement,
UK Presidency objectives).
Former Soviet Union.
Former Yugoslavia.
Central Europe.
Our objectives are to have a full and fruitful exchange, and to continue to encourage the Bolger Government's greater commitment to the 'Western' Community, in line with British interests.
4. Would you please provide briefing on the subjects in the attached list, in the form of contributions to be incorporated in a draft PS letter to PS/No. 10, on the standard lines. Contributions should reach me by 1700 on 16 June, and be headed 'New Zealand Prime Minister's call on the Prime Minister'. The most recent instructions on briefing for the Prime Minister are in Mr Gozney's minute of 20 November 1991.
