The Criminal Procedure Ordinance (Cap. 221) is amended in
clauses 8 to 12 to remove references to the death penalty and
related matters. The Interpretation and General Clauses Ordinance
(Cap. 1), the Jury Ordinance (Cap. 3), the Coroners Ordinance
(Cap. 14), the Mental Health Ordinance (Cap. 136), the Prisons
Ordinance (Cap. 234), the Rehabilitation of Offenders Ordinance
(Cap. 297) and the Homicide Ordinance (Cap. 339) are amended by
clauses 13 to 23 to remove references to the death penalty
consequent upon its repeal.

Clause 24 amends the Emergency Regulations Ordinance (Cap. 241)
to repeal the powers given to the Governor in Council to impose the
death penalty under emergency regulations and to exclude the penalty
from the regulation making power.
