FCOSAS: PROPOSED ALLOCATION OF FUNDS FOR 1993/94
I attach a table (Annex I) showing CRD's proposals
for the allocation of FCOSAS funds for 1993/94 based on the
most likely final outcome of the PES round.

The major factors affecting the overall funds
available are
a decline of £0.5 m flowing from the 1991 PES
a further decline of £l m from this year's PES

a transfer of 'an additional £2 m from the ODA (for 3
years at least) into the FCOSAS.
Allocations are complicated by the fact that the ODA funds
can only be used for aid-recipient countries and for
scholarships which not only meet standard FCOSAS criteria
but also developmental (including good government)
purposes.
