Thank you for your letter of 12 March, enclosing a copy of your letter to Tim Sainsbury, about the concern of Delta Crompton Cables Ltd, that South African companies might be in breach of international trade agreements.
We attach importance to British companies being able to compete fairly for business in international markets. The Department of Trade and Industry are investigating Delta Crompton's complaint both in Hong Kong and in South Africa and will be replying to you in more detail as soon as possible.
