Early occupation of the space is critical to the success of the park. Although the IDB will promote the park at home and overseas, they are not in a position to ensure inward investment projects at the right time to take up the accommodation available (which is apparently substantial in relation to foreseeable science-related demand in
Londonderry). This would explain Mr Shortall's appeal to Mr Patten to help identify potential tenants from Hong Kong.
