Jear Tany,
This is just to thank you, and Alan Paul, very much indeed for giving us so much of your time on our recent visit. It was a very valuable opportunity to think about some of the issues which confront us and sometimes confuse us a little in London. We came away with a much clearer sense of the big problems ahead. I enclose a set of minutes recording the main points that came from an extraordinarily intensive few days.
I hope that we will be able to get you back here at the end of the month for a seminar-type discussion with the Secretary of State, the Governor and Robin McLaren. I expect you realise how highly we value your steady advice. We shall go on doing
so.
Meanwhile, many thanks too for a delicious meal.
