This is just a line to say how grateful I am to you for giving Simon Broadbent, Nigel Cox and me so much of your time in such a busy week. We found our visit tremendously valuable as a way of sorting out a mixture of confusions and bright ideas on our part, and of course in identifying the big issues that are coming up in the weeks ahead. I do hope we can crack the Chinese problem over the airport so that we can all get on with that particular exercise. If only we could do the same for some of the other problems we face. As always it makes such a difference to talk from time to time with those who are dealing with the problems on the ground.
Do make a point of getting in touch next time you are in London.
