Important considerations include whether the legal framework empowers the home supervisor to exercise consolidated supervision of its authorized institutions on a global basis, to collect information from its authorized institutions for effective consolidated supervision, to exchange prudential information with host supervisory authorities and to prevent the creation of foreign banking establishments in particular jurisdictions.
