Further to our telno. 2870, we have double-checked the amendments to the Letters Patent and the Royal
Instructions which are to go before Privy Council to-day.

We note that in the proposed RI XXI (2) (a) and XXI (3) there are references to "the President's
deputy". This is at variance with the term "the Deputy President" which appears in the current RIs, and indeed in one of your early drafts (ref. Michael Stone's letter of 6 October to Richard Hoare). It is not entirely clear to us
how this change in wording has come about.
