You will remember that I raised this issue in July, while I was in FED, following receiving a letter from Dr James Grayson of the University of Sheffield. I attach copies of the letter and the subsequent minuting for ease of reference.
2. Dr Grayson has approached me once since writing the original letter, and as requested, I have given a holding reply. But I fear that it will not be too long before he returns to the charge as the university term and the proposed meeting draws closer. My own departure for the IISS also draws closer. Is Hong Kong Department yet in a position to decide whether or not I can take part in the proposed meeting, or whether somebody else might volunteer to attend?
