In view of Selina Chow's forthcoming visit to the UK, her lunch with Lord Caithness and her meeting with you, you may find it useful to see the attached record of my recent conversation with her.

Since then, of course, Selina Chow has/ceded the chairmanship of the Select Committee to Ron Arculli, as reported in my letter of 28 January. The argument was that it was inappropriate for an appointed member to be chairman and better for an elected one to perform that role (in fact, Arculli was one of those candidates in the functional constituencies who was elected unopposed!)
