2. You asked to be reminded of what is needed by way of an amendment to Article XIV of the Letters Patent in connection with HKG's proposed localisation of the JP system. I attach a copy of your minute of 24 April in which you suggested simply deleting "Justice of the Peace". I am waiting for confirmation that HKG are content with this.
3. I have also sought Hong Kong's views on the possibility of combining the two Letters Patent amendments in one instrument.
