a useful find. It Chews that the II scheme will be quite small in comparison to other territories. In terms
of overall costs, it incudd se small as 2. I have asked our Registry to obtain from the PRO some of our remaining files from the 1960/63 file period dealing with compensation well. schemes which I hope will give some indication of the total number of HMOCS officers who were serving in Kenya, Nigeria, Tanzania and Uganda
I at the time when each of these countries attained independence. should, however, warn you that I do not hold out much hope that these in mind files contain the information you are after.

The table shows 3. You may, however, find the following table useful. the number pensioners who are being paid pensions by the ODA PIPS computer, (ie Officer or widow, Secretary of State appointment or NDO) for each of these countries. Unfortunately, PIPS cannot distinguish between those officers (and their widows) who retired before independence and those who retired after. Nevertheless, you may be able to make something of this information.
