Transfer to Permanent Establishment

Many thanks for your letter of the 17th. of this month with enclosures.

I am absolutely delighted with the news and will do my best to puff my way through the medical.

In answer to the specific points which you raise:

(a) I have now spoken to George Rahmin and he has arranged

the medical for the 31st. October.

(b)

I would elect to transfer as from the date of my passing the medical.

(c)

(d)

I would prefer not to buy back my previous service.

I do wish to apply for enrolment as a member of Her Majesty's Overseas Civil Service and enclose herewith the application form completed in duplicate as requested. I have had to leave blank the date upon which the pensionable employment was confirmed.

It occurs to me that I only really have a vague notion of the details of how the pension arrangements work, particularly with regard to such matters of how much I get at the end. of the day, what happens in the event of premature death or retirement etc. Do you have some kind of idiot's guide with which you can supply me?

I look forward to hearing from you again in due course,

Sincenly
