Leave arrangements for officers on 90% pensionability who opt to transfer to 100% pensionability upon joining the New Pension Scheme

Annex B(i)

An officer who opts

opts to transfer to 100% pension- ability will have his leave earning rate adjusted with effect from the material date of his transfer to 100% pensionability. The leave arrangements are detailed in paragraphs 2 to 7 below.

Local officers

For a local officer on DJL3 or below,

DJL3 or below, the rate of earning vacation leave before 1 August 1987 and with effect from 1 August 1987 is at Annex B(i).

For a local officer on DJL4 or above who takes annual leave with passages in the 12-month period which includes the material date, the amount of vacation leave that will be credited to his leave account in respect of that 12-month period will be 19 days multiplied by the proportion which the part of the 12-month period preceding the material date bears to the full period, i.e.

For a local officer on DJL4 or above who does not take annual leave with passages in the 12-month period which includes the material date, the rate of earning vacation leave in respect of that 12-month period will be as follows :

(a) if the

1987 -

(i)

(ii)

date is before 1 August

78 days a year for the part of the 12-month period preceding the material date;

59 days a year for the part beginning on the material date and ending on 31 July 1987;

(iii) 72.5 days a year for any part from

1 August 1987 onwards.
