Provided that if a Secretary of State is satisfied that the future, career, in the public service in Cyprus of any such officer is so prejudiced because of the proposed transfer of powers that it is impracticable for him, to continue in the public service in Cyprus after the date of transfer of powers, then such officer shall be eligible to receive any benefit accorded to an entitled officer under this Scheme as if he were an entitled 'officer and the provisions of this Scheme shall apply to such officer accordingly. 4 (2) The provisions of sub-paragraph (1) of this paragraph shall apply to any teacher to whom Part V of the Elementary Education Law applies as if he were an officer to whom that sub-paragraph refers, save that any such teacher who is permitted to retire under the provisions of that sub- paragraph shall be eligible for such pension as may, under the Elementary Education Law modified in the same manner as the Pensions Law is modified by this Scheme, be granted to a teacher on his retirement,

Calculation of compensation for loss of career
1. In this Appendix-
