permitted, and elects to commute a part of his pension, the factor set out Table “A” in the First Appendix to this Scheme appropriate to his age in years and completed months on the date of his retirement shall, if greater than the factor for the calculation of gratuities under the pension laws of such other scheduled Government, be used in calculating for the purposes ›› of this Scheme the amount of the gratuity in lieu of pension in respect of his service, under such other scheduled Government. Save as aforesaid the amount of any gratuity payable to any such entitled, officer în respect of service under some other scheduled Government shall, for the purposes of this Scheme, be calculated in accordance with the pension laws of such Government:
Provided that the total amount of the reduction of the annual pension of such an entitled "officer in respect of all his service under scheduled Govern ments for the purposes of this Scheme shall not exceed one quarter of such annual pension or three hundred and fifty pounds, whichever is the greater and provided further that the amount by which any gratuity calculated in accordance with this sub-paragraph exceeds that payable to such entitled. officer under, the pension laws of other scheduled Governments shall be payable by the Government of Cyprus.
(6) For the purposes of sub-paragraph 5 of this paragraphTM“ scheduled Government has the same meaning as in Part III of the Cyprus Pension Regulations.
Compensation
4. On the retirement of an entitled officer in accordance with the provisions of paragraph 2, he shall be granted in addition to his pension compensation for loss of career,
Transfer
5.-(1) An entitled officer who is transferred to other public service after the operative date shall, if the amount of his last drawn annual pensionable emoluments in the Colony are greater than the initial annual pensionable emoluments of the office to which he is transferred, be eligible to receive as compensation--
(a) a sum computed by multiplying the amount by which his last drawn annual pensionable emoluments in the Colony exceed the initial annual pensionable emoluments of the office to which he is transferred by a factor appropriate to his age in years and completed months on the date of transfer ascertained from Table “E” in the Third Appendix to this Scheme, organise Mi
(b) a sum equal to the amount of compensation for loss of career for
which he would have been eligible had he, on the date on which he s relinquished duties prior to his transfer, relinquished duties prior to retirement pursuant to paragraph 2 and retired under the provisions of that paragraph,
whichever is less.
» (2) An overseas officer who has been temporarily transferred or seconded to the public service of the Colony from other public service and who under the conditions of his service has the right on the operative date, at his option, to revert to such other public service and who in the opinion of the Governor bad a reasonable prospect of his temporary transfer or secondment being amended to permanent service in the Colony, shail ou ausier iv older public service or on reversion to his former public service after the operative date be eligible to receive compensation

officer and the provisions of the said sub-paragraph shall apply to such an officer accordingly :
Provided that for the purposes of this paragraph the last drawn annual pensionable emoluments of such an officer in the Colony shall be the annual pensionable emoluments he would have received immediately before his transfer had he been in the permanent service of the Colony.
