Her Majesty, by virtue and in exercise of the powers enabling Her in that behalf, is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Cyprus (Retirement Provisions) Citation. Order in Council, 1960.

2. Save as is in this Order otherwise provided or required by the Interpret context, the Interpretation Act, 1889(a), shall apply for the purpose of tion. interpreting this Örder as it applies for the purpose of interpreting an Act of Parliament.-

3. The Scheme set out in the Schedule to this Order shall have, and shall be deemed since the first day of July, 1959, to have had, the force and effect of law.

THE SCHEME

Definitions

1-1) In this Scheme, unless the context otherwise requires ---

44 additional leave means additional leave for which an entitled officer may be eligible under paragraph 6 of this Scheme ;

Administrative Secretary" means the Administrative Secretary of the

Colony;

"the Appointed Agents means the Crown Agents for Overseas Governments and Administrations or such other agent as a Secretary of State may appoint;

the Colony" means the Colony of Cyprus;

"compensation for loss of career with respect to any officer means compensation calculated in accordance with the provisions of the Second Appendix to this Scheme::.....
