As you know, there has been one round of consultations with the HMOCS Association in Hong Kong. We did not involve your Association in these consultations as the proposal involved only a compensation and incentive scheme for serving officers.
There have been no further announcements since this round of consultations. We have, however, been working on a possible package of benefits for serving officers, which may also benefit existing pensioners. I can assure you that the question of SPOS, which I know is of particular concern to your members, is receiving urgent attention, as are the other elements of a possible package. I hope it will not be too long before an announcement can be made.
If HMG's revised package does include elements which would affect the welfare of your members, we would of course provide you with a copy of the proposals and welcome the views of your members.
