(ii) Judicial officers referred to in paragraph 5 above will
be required to sign an irrevocable undertaking before 31 March
1993, to buy back such contract service as they wish to
convert to pensionable service to count as pensionable
service under any HMG compensation scheme for HMOCS officers.
(iii) Officers in (i) and (ii) above must have completed buying back such contract service as they wish to count as pensionable service for the purposes of any HMG compensation scheme before the appointed day for the compensation scheme.

It is emphasised that these deadlines are relevant only to any compensation scheme which HMG may promulgate for members of HMOCs. The arrangements have no bearing on HKG's current policy on buying back of service for the purpose of
enhancing current pension entitlements under Hong Kong
pensions laws.
Deadline for transfer to pensionable terms for the purpose of
benefiting from any compensation scheme for HMOCS members
8. When HKG approves an application from an officer on
agreement terms to transfer to pensionable terms the officer
has the choice of transferring either when he is found
medically fit or at any time before the expiry of his current
contract.
9. The Secretary of State has decided that he will not
consider an application from officers in the service of Hong
Kong for membership of HMOCS unless the officer concerned has,
in fact, transferred to pensionable terms by 31 March 1993. It is emphasised that this deadline applies only to
eligibility for membership of HMOCS and its consequences for
any scheme affecting members of HMOCS.
