I attach a draft letter to be sent to Mr Woodfield on the private sector options and also the latest draft to the options paper.
We should now be able to put in one figure for the compensation cost estimates (where previously we had a range): we now know that there will be 85 Police officers, 25 Judges and about 10 others. This is thus spot-on our upper estimate to HMT that there would be 120 more. I should be grateful if you could ask your people to check that the figures that I have now put in are correct.
We still need a fair amount of additional graphs and tables from GAD, but I don't think that need stop us from suggesting a Meeting with HMT and GAD.
