Dear Bridget,
Overall HMOCS Statistics
571
I refer to your letter of 26 October 1992.
I apologise for the confusion caused by my October and September statistics. The 775 serving HMOCS members given in September included 85 Police Officers who applied for HMOCS membership and for transfer to p.p.e. before the deadline of 30 June 1992. We have assumed that all these applications would be approved. Strictly speaking, as at September 1992 we had 690 serving members.
for
with regard to the discrepancies in the figures potential members, more Judicial officers applied after the original deadline of 30.6.92 and the total as at 30.9.92 should be 25 instead of 11. The 5 Police Officers were those already on the p.p.e. but who had not applied for HMOCS membership and should still be regarded as potential members. out of the 75 "other" officers reported September, we propose to include only 10 as potential members. These include officers who are likely to be permitted to transfer or already have approval but have not yet effected their transfer to p.p.e.

gum, the number of serving HMOCS members stood September and the number of potential members 125 (85+25+5+10). Revised overall HMOCS which should replace the one handed to John Morris, are prepared at the Annex for your reference.
