(ii) Officers whose applications to transfer to pensionable

terms were approved before 26 July 1991 must decide and

commence buying back service before 31 July 1993 if they wish to have their bought back service count as pensionable service

under any compensation scheme for HMOCS officers.

(iii) Judicial officers referred to in paragraph 5 above will be required to sign an irrevocable undertaking before 31 July 1993, to buy back such contract service as they wish to

convert to pensionable service to count as pensionable

service under any compensation scheme for HMOCs officers.

7. It is emphasised that these arrangements are relevant only

to any compensation and insentive scheme which HMG may

promulgate for members of HMOCs. The arrangements have no bearing on HKG's current policy on buying back of service for

the purpose of enhancing current pension entitlements under Hong Kong pensions laws.

8. When HKG approves an application from an officer on

agreement terms to transfer to pensionable terms the officer

has the choice of transferring either when he is found medically fit or at any time before the expiry of his current

contract.
