HMOCS Officers: Posts in Other Dependent Territories

Further to my letter of 20 March, I enclose an updated and enlarged list of our HMOCS officers in the Administrative Service, who may be interested in Governor/CS/FS posts in the smaller Dependent Territories.

This subject was also raised by the Hong Kong HMOCS Association during the FCO/ODA Team visit in early May to discuss HMOCS arrangements to be introduced as a result of the transfer of sovereignty of Hong Kong in Officers felt that as the last serving members of HMOCS, they have a prior claim for consideration for such posts as may arise in the remaining Dependent Territories. Indeed in terms of the 1960 White paper and other commitments by HMG they have every entitlement and expectation to be considered for such posts before anyone
else.
What we need is a formalised procedure under which serving HMOCS officers are considered for transfer/secondment
posts before other appointment/recruitment possibilities are initiated.
