When we met on 19/20 June you had not yet received Peter Ricketts' letter of 18 June but you gave me a copy of Ian Wotherspoon's letter of the same date.

In the light of this we should be grateful if you would now tell the Association Committee that we should like to arrange the further consultations which Mr Goodlad mentioned as soon as possible, but that more work still needs to be done here first: we are pressing ahead as fast as we can, realistically we are unlikely to be in a position to hold useful consultations until late August. We shall let them know (subject to your views, through you or, when you are on leave, Stuart Harbinson) as soon as we can propose firm dates.
