PUBLIC SERVICE : PENSION SAFEGUARDS

Despite reassurances, since 4 June 1989 Civil
expressed increased concern about the security
pensions and have asked for the provision of pension
safeguards.
In order
to address this concern the
Administration has been examining the feasibility of a number
of pension safeguard options. A decision needs to be made on
whether to implement any of these options.
RECOMMENDATION AND ADVICE SOUGHT

Members
are asked
to
advise that no pension
safeguards
should be further pursued for the Civil Service at
present and the Chinese should be informed.
