Nonetheless HMG accept that HMOCS officers in Hong F also entitled to compensation for the loss of the Se of State's protection. The HKG has introduced its c scheme for the payment of compensation for certain pensionable officers. This paper sets out HMG's prc for compensation and incentive payments for HMOCs of in general.

4. In the special circumstances of Hong Kong, the p scheme is as follows:

(a) A calculation of the total sum for which an offi. would be provisionally eligible under sub paragraphs (c) below will be made using:

- the tables set out in the HKG limited compensation for officers superseded for promotion in order to de: the relevant factor to be applied in relation to the

concerned; and

- the notional sterling equivalent'' for the salar rank point in which the officer is serving on 30 Junɛ (see paragraph 6 below).

(b) A first payment of a proportion of the sum so cal will be made on 30 June 1997, the last day on which t Secretary of State has responsibilities in respect of serving officers of HMOCS in Hong Kong, to all HMOCS officers who are in the service of the HKG on that da

(c) Subsequent payments will be made at annual interva officers, who were members of HMOCS on 30 June: 1997 ar are in the service of the Hong Kong SARG on the date ‹ subsequent payment.
