Q1 Will the limited compensation scheme still operate after
1997?
A1 We do not yet know. (This is one of a number of civil
service issues which we and HKG wish to discuss with the
Chinese when the time is right).
Q2 What compensation would I get if I am superseded post-1997 and decide to retire early as allowed in limited compensation scheme, if that scheme is still running?
A2
No compensation for period not served. Your choice.
ی
Q3 If I am superceded and stay on will I get compensation at higher rank level?
A3 No.
Q4 If there is a breakdown in the arrangements envisaged
under the JD, will HMG introduce arrangements to allow
(former) HMOCS officers to retire with early payment of
pensions?
A4 Do not envisage any breakdown.
-
(If pressed hard) It would be for the Government of the day to take whatever measures it felt appropriate.
