We have reviewed the NPS option period for agreement officers who transfer to p.e., which was promulgated in CSB Circular No. 2/88 but decided that it should remain unchanged in view of the following

six-month option period for these officers is considered reasonable vis-a-vis other civil servants have been given 5-year option period; and

We may be challenged legally if we revoke the "6-month from the date of transfer" option period and officers

to apply for transfer to pensionable terms and ομι for NPS at the same time, ie. these agreement officers, whose application for transfer to p.e. has not been approved, are not yet eligible to opt for NPS legally.

hope you'll understand our stance in retaining deadline for agreement officers who transfer p.e. as promulgated in CSB Circular No. 2/88. As far ay HMOCS arrangements are concerned you will have a finite number of HMOCS officers by 1.7.92. You will not

have a finite number on the OPS or the NPS until 1.1.93.

Yours sincerely,

(Miss Christina Tsang)
